  1. This video hitting the net was purportedly an innocent mistake by an NYPD officer emailing it to a friend.

The incident occurred on March 16, 2004. It was caught on camera because the NYPD had 200 CCTV cameras in the Morris Houses housing projects in the Bronx as part of their Video Interactive Patrol Enhances Response (VIPER) program.

Paris Lane was a budding hip-hop artist who went by the stage name Para Dice.

Extremely distraught over the breakup he and his girlfriend had just had, they embrace one last time, she wipes away tears, gets into an elevator, and he waits for the doors to close. He then pulls out a 9 mm handgun and takes his own life.

    He was 22 years old.

The girl in the video, Krysten Simmons, was 16 at the time. She suffered a nervous breakdown after seeing the video and filed a $10 million notice of claim against the city for its leak.
