It generally sucks when teens do this.
They think the pain won't go away and the best option is to end it all, they need to learn life goes on and what hurts now will seem trivial in the future.

    Here, there and everywhere!
You said it elemental! What gets me about hangings where they can just stand up like this, or stop themselves before it's to late, is they DON'T! Their poor young heads must be pretty messed up to get to this point.:(

Agreed. How much resolve must you have to do this and not by instinct alone remove yourself? Normally the hands are the first to defense. Some say suicide is a coward's way out. I think it takes big balls.

Deep within the darkness of my mind..
Wonder why people label it a cowardly act?? It's definitely selfish in many cases. Those who knew and cared are left here trying to cope and make sense of it all. They had no say in the matter. Some aren't able to deal and also follow suit. I can only speak for myself but the way I see it is this. If I do something be it what it may, I take into consideration the feelings/likes/dislikes of those around me that are directly affected. I make decisions based on that for the most part. I care and am considerate. It would be dickish of me otherwise. Allow me to clarify. "Those around me" consists of my husband and 3 children. Yes there are a few others around but in all honesty my loyalty is to those 4. Sorry to the rest of my fam... Not really. LoL anyway. So as I was saying...wait..what was I saying again...

We seem to be on the same wave length. It's absolutely selfish. I keep faith that, at 47 years old, I still have a reason to be here. I have urges but immediately change my thoughts. I want anyone, young or not, to know that they can change their minds. Just wait one minute, and then another minute. Breath deep. Think of something else. Keep waiting. Tell yourself you will go to bed and think about it in the morning. First thing in the morning, call someone - anyone. If no one you know will understand, call 1-800-273-8255, because there is always another choice. ALWAYS.. You never know what fate has in store for you. I'm keeping the faith that my fate has something spectacular waiting for me.

  7. like someone have said earlier in another thread related about teens that commit suicide.. IF you have a life where you get bullied constantly at school, have no good result, have no real friends or socially awkward/uncomfortable that go home with a mom/stepdad that has no real work/full blown off alcoholic/druggies with a stepdad abusing you every night when mom inject herself..
i would MAYBE think about suicide, because that is one hell of a life !

I think you're right when you say a younger person might feel more deeply to harm themselves. And I can tell you that I've been there. But once high school ends, those bullies aren't there anymore. People are seen more for their abilities than for any other status quo. Once you get a job after high school or go to college, those labels don't matter. You have the opportunity now to find like-minded people. But what matters most is to tell someone if you feel like hurting yourself or someone else. It's hard to admit you need help. But the ones who can help aren't going to judge, they just want to help.
