16-Year-Old Girl Beaten and Burned Alive in Guatemala

Either happened earlier this year or some year prior:

This girl, 16, and two men robbed and murdered a taxi driver in Guatemala.

Multiple witnesses saw them do it and took off after them.

The three of them ran into a series of alleyways and side streets to get away, but the girl got lost or ran into a dead end.

The mob got her.

It's unclear whether or not she actually did any of the beating or robbing, but was among the three anyway.

She confessed to the crowd (unknown if it was a true confession or just a play for mercy), and then the video starts.

I'm unclear on whether she died or not, but I'd assume so. They didn't let up much during the video. No reason to believe they did after the vid ended.

I'm still trying to find that out.

She was still moving somewhat, so she could have still survived, not for a very long time without medical attention but possible

 

Seriously though what the fuck kind of flammable substance were they using? The wick effect should have gone into effect by that time, causing her to burn for hours.

 

Part of me agrees with you, TopCat, but part of me doesn't. She knew full well the consequences of robbing and murdering that poor cab driver, but she chose to walk down that path willingly so, in affect, she chose her own death. And yes, she WAS guilty. She even taunts the crowd by yelling for them to use more gasoline. What innocent person does that?
If you run with the animals, you get shot by the hunters.
And what about the cabbie's family? What are they suppose to do? A wife with no husband and kids with no dad, all because he wanted to be a decent person and earn his money the right way-by working hard for it.
Too often the victim gets lost in these stories, and that's a shame.
When the rights of the guilty become more important than the rights of the innocent you end up with what we have here in the U.S.-prisoners who live rent free, get t.v., free food, medical, dental, vision and hearing care, free schooling and college, etc. while the victims are handed a business card with a "Crisis Line" phone number on it.
Maybe street justice is gaining popularity because people are tired of getting screwed over by the courts.
It's a double-sided coin, to be sure, but one thing I do need to point out-there are other videos on this site with even worse things happening to men...but no one had much to say then.
But when it's a pretty girl, people freak.
I'm sorry, but what I see happening here is called "sexual discrimination" in it's worst form.
